About Denver EFT

Welcome to the Denver Community for Emotionally Focused Therapists (DCEFT). We are a community of psychotherapists trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy as developed by Dr. Susan Johnson.

DCEFT was founded in 2011 with the goal of bringing together local EFT practitioners in a supportive and mutually encouraging peer community.  In order to build and expand the EFT Community, the founders launched the first official DCEFT meeting in Fall 2011.

Because EFT is, by definition, focused on emotion, we recognize that the well-being of EFT clinicians is crucial to effective clinical practice.  DCEFT is here to contribute to that well-being.

DCEFT Mission Statement

The Denver Community for EFT mission is to bring together EFT clinicians in a supportive and collaborative community that promotes the well-being and inclusion of all members. We strive to build a community that brings all parts of people’s identities together to encourage learning, development, and certification in EFT. DCEFT aims to celebrate our community’s strengths and highlight areas for growth in our work as therapists, and to build meaningful connections in our community.

DCEFT is here to:

  • Promote the learning and practice of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).
  • Connect EFT therapists with their learning community.
  • Encourage certification in EFT through the International Centre for Excellence in EFT (ICEEFT).
  • Enhance the satisfaction of therapists practicing EFT.
